Friday The 13th
I love this remake. I think it perfectly captures what the original films were all about, which is take a bunch of stupid kids and have Jason kill them off one by one. But what made seeing this movie in theaters so special was the incredibly long intro before the title card. Nobody really realize that we hadn’t seen the title of the movie until Jason swings down his machete and BOOM! There’s the title, nearly 25 minutes after the movie actually begins. The theater actually erupted in cheers, roars, and applause, myself included. It was one of those moments that united us all in our love of horror and it was just fantastic! I’ll never forget the rush I had in that moment.
