Candiru
The candiru looks perfectly harmless, but anyone who has seen Anaconda knows that they are not harmless at all. They are possibly the most terrifying fish on this list. It is a parasitic freshwater catfish that is known to swim up a human’s urethra, extends spines from its body to stay in place and requires surgery to remove. Many cases have been shot down as being myths, but there has been one documented case of a candiru “attack” in Brazil in 1997 (coincidentally the same year Anaconda was released. Myth or no, it sounds incredibly frightening.
