It’s been getting darker and darker with each passing day and that gloominess is bringing out the dreamy melancholic in me. That’s why this edition of Twisted Music Video of the Week is Doctrin‘s “Give Me Love”, a Garbage-esque track that shows mainwoman Dolly Denko absolutely deserves parallels to Shirley Manson.
Dolly explained the video to Yahoo!:
I wanted to combine body positive burlesque-inspired visuals with the song’s message; that you just can’t force love and you’ll be OK on your own in the end. You shouldn’t have to beg for love or pull out a bag of tricks. If it’s not there, let it go. Find yourself and eat some cake! The video was incredibly fun to shoot, but that’s easy for me to say because I’m not the one that was tied to a bed having hot wax poured over me!
In addition, we’ve been told that Denko is designing the EP cover and that she “…will be inspired by a classic Wes Craven movie poster.”
“Give Me Love” comes from Doctrin’s upcoming EP The Deep, which comes out January 15th.
