Crimson Peak

The problem with the Crimson Peak trailer is that it’s misleading. Guillermo del Toro’s Gothic romance is just that: a Gothic romance. It has elements of horror, but it’s not the scarefest that this trailer made it out to be. Also, it pretty much shows you the entire film (even shots from the climactic fight in the snow!). I confess I’m a little biased against this trailer, as it was the big film the Alamo Drafthouse was pushing here in Austin, TX so I saw this trailer in front of EVERY. SINGLE. FILM. Still, this is bad marketing at its worst.
