And there you have it! My current personal ranking of all seven of Zombie’s narrative features to date! Overall, I feel like Rob is still completely in the groove as a filmmaker, at least from 2009 onward, and still has a lot of good films within him. He has flirted with projects in recent years outside of the horror genre and I am eager to see what he can bring to the table once he is finally able to step outside of that comfort zone. Whether it happens with his Groucho Marx biopic (Raised Eyebrows), the Philadelphia Flyers project (Broad Street Bullies), his backburner’d actioner (Tyrannosaurus Rex), or something else entirely, I think he’s going to surprise us with whatever he does next. As for horror, while he says he’d like to take a break from it as a director, I doubt he’ll ever leave the genre for long. Whether you like it or not, Rob Zombie is here to stay in film, as well as music.
