STXfilms is releasing Justin Dec‘s Countdown on October 25, and its attention grabbing premise is one we can’t help but love: what if an app could predict when you’re going to die?
Naturally, the app is downloaded by a group of attractive young folks who are then provided with a literal countdown to the time of their death, but you may be wondering how exactly those kill scenes are carried out. Does a masked maniac show up to slice and dice them or are the deaths more supernatural in nature, kinda like Final Destination‘s kill scenes?

In Countdown, “When a young nurse (Elizabeth Lail) downloads an app that claims to predict exactly when a person is going to die, it tells her she only has three days to live. With time ticking away and death closing in, she must find a way to save her life before time runs out.”
