‘The Fly: The Ultimate Collection’ is Coming to Blu-ray!
No need to be afraid any longer my friends because Australia’s Via Vision Entertainment is releasing every film in The Fly series on one fantastic 5-disc Blu-ray set dubbed The Fly: The Ultimate Collection! The set is planned for a March 8th release.
This limited edition includes the original 1958 The Fly, Return of the Fly (1959), Curse of The Fly (1965), the 30th anniversary special edition of David Cronenberg’s The Fly (1986) and The Fly II – Special Edition (1989).
This 1080p set will contain five discs and an array of must have supplementary materials for horror and sci-fi collectors and fans of the franchise. Some of these include the documentaries Fear of the Flesh, The Brundle Museum of Natural History, The Fly Papers, deleted scenes, extended scenes, audio commentary by director Chris Walas, alternate ending, film tests and much more. This is a worldwide premiere on Blu-ray for The Fly II and Curse of The Fly and the first time every film in the franchise has been packaged together on high definition.
Uh, yes please! Finally The Fly II and Curse of the Fly are coming to Blu-ray. This is cause for celebration the world over!
There’s no better company than Via Vision to handle this release either. They have a knack for putting out great box sets. I’ve previously written about their Ray Bradbury, Psycho, Evil Dead and Amittville Horror box sets and each one of those is a must-own. And if you’re worried about this being an Australian release, don’t. I can’t confirm this yet but in the past the majority of their releases have been region free so there’s a good chance this one is too.
The Fly: The Ultimate Collection is available for pre-order from JB Hi-Fi.

‘Ready or Not 2: Here I Come’ Arrives on Hulu and Disney+ Next Week
Get ready for double the fun, protagonists, and body count when Ready or Not 2: Here I Come explodes on streaming next week.
Just in time for the fireworks, the sequel makes its streaming debut on Hulu and Disney+ on July 2.
Directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin & Tyler Gillett are back, along with Samara Weaving, for more hide and slay mayhem.
Picking up moments after the all-out attack from the Le Domas family in the first Ready or Not movie, Grace (Weaving) discovers she’s reached the next level of the nightmarish game — and this time with her estranged sister Faith (Kathryn Newton) at her side. Grace has one chance to survive, keep her sister alive, and claim the High Seat of the Council that controls the world. Four rival families are hunting her for the throne, and whoever wins rules it all.
That means a higher body count and even more explosive carnage. Just how much? A whopping 325 gallons worth, the directors previously told BD.
Sarah Michelle Gellar, Shawn Hatosy, Néstor Carbonell, David Cronenberg, Elijah Wood, Kevin Durand, Olivia Cheng, Varun Saranga, and Daniel Beirne also star.
I wrote in my review for Bloody Disgusting, “More is more in Ready or Not 2. Bigger stakes, larger playing field, a higher (and more gruesome) body count, and even double the protagonists. It’s all designed to deliver maximum crowd-pleasing fun.”
The horror-comedy sequel is written by Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy.
