When the year is over, Revenge will undoubtedly top a number of “best of” lists, and it damn sure deserves that honor. Sublimely shot, mercilessly violent and with a tour-de-force performance from Matilda Lutz, Revenge is an important piece of horror-fantasy art right now, bringing a much-needed female voice to the rape-revenge sub-genre.
The film, directed by Coralie Fargeat, is headed to DVD and Blu-ray on August 7 from Universal Studios Home Entertainment, we’ve just learned today.
In Revenge, which Brad called “the first great horror film of 2018“…
“Jen is enjoying a romantic getaway with her wealthy boyfriend — until his two sleazy friends arrive for an unannounced hunting trip. As tension mounts in the house, the situation abruptly and viciously intensifies, culminating in a shocking act that leaves Jen left for dead. Unfortunately for her assailants, she survives and soon begins a relentless quest for bloody revenge.”
