Dennis Hopper’s Eye Hole Will Look Stunning When ‘Waterworld’ Comes to 4K Ultra HD in July!

Published

Hated by many and loved by few, 1995’s adventure film Waterworld brought Mad Max to the high seas, notably failing to recoup its massive combined production and marketing budget at the box office. Eventually, however, the Kevin Costner star vehicle became profitable on home video, and all these years later, it’s getting a brand new spankin’ new 4K release.

Universal Pictures will release Waterworld on 4K Ultra HD on July 9th!

The release includes both the theatrical version (in 4K with High Dynamic Range) and the extended cut (in HD).

Set in the future when Earth is completely covered in water and the human race is struggling to survive, mankind’s one remaining hope for a better future is a drifter (Kevin Costner) who gets caught up in a battle between the evil Deacon (Dennis Hopper) and a child’s secret key to a wondrous place called “Dryland.” Featuring groundbreaking special effects, Waterworld is a visually stunning, futuristic thriller beyond your wildest imagination!
