Annie Wilkes (Lizzy Caplan) was the central character in the second season of Hulu’s “Castle Rock,” in my own personal opinion the show’s most exceptional season to date. The series, in addition to multiple other storylines – one of them inspired by Salem’s Lot – primarily told the origin story of Annie Wilkes, a loving mother who gets waylaid in the town of Castle Rock.
We’ve learned today that the second season of the Stephen King-based, J.J. Abrams-produced series will be coming to Digital on January 21 and DVD/Blu-ray on May 19.
Bonus Features include:
- “Annie Wilkes: Mother of Sorrow” Featurette
Stephen King’s multiverse, Castle Rock, is a place which combines the mythological scale and intimate character storytelling of the best-selling author’s best-loved works. In season two, a feud between warring clans comes to a boil when budding psychopath Annie Wilkes, Stephen King’s nurse from hell, gets waylaid in the small town of Castle Rock. Local businessman Reginald “Pop” Merrill (Tim Robbins) is dragged into the fight, when Pop’s nephew, legendary bully John “Ace” Merrill (Paul Sparks), stirs up trouble.
Season two also stars Barkhad Abdi as Abdi Howlwadaag, Yusra Warsama as Dr. Nadia Howlwadaag, Elsie Fisher as Joy Wilkes and Matthew Alan as Chris Merrill.
