This may be it, the calm before Halloween season kicks off in earnest next month. As such, HBO Max, Hulu, Netflix, Peacock, Paramount+, Pluto TV, Screambox, Shudder, and Tubi have announced their August 2026 library additions for another light month for horror streaming as summer begins to wane.
Here’s what’s arriving this month.
Netflix brings two new originals with The Last House and The Whisper Man this August, along with nearly all the Chucky films for your horror marathon needs. Shudder debuts the monstrous Hellcat, Buffet Infinity, and Ozploitation romp Penny Land is Dead to its packed catalog. Fans won’t want to miss the arrival of The X-Files: I Want to Believe Vrach Frankenshteyn on Hulu this month either.
