NETFLIX: Horror Arrivals for July 2020 Include Brand New Shows “Ju-On: Origins” and “Unsolved Mysteries”

We’re just one week away from the first day of July, and that means a new batch of titles are headed to the Netflix streaming service. For starters, July 1st brings with it the brand new reboot series “Unsolved Mysteries,” a fresh take on the classic ’90s series that’s still giving us nightmares to this day. Additionally, a brand new “Ju-On” series is on the way.

Released in 2000, Takashi Shimizu’s Ju-On: The Curse kick-started a successful J-horror franchise that spawned multiple follow-ups and an American-made remake franchise that received a brand new installment earlier this year. This July, the original Japanese franchise returns with the Netflix series “Ju-On: Origins.” It’s set to premiere on July 3rd, 2020.

In the franchise’s first TV series, “A paranormal researcher searches obsessively for a cursed home where something terrible happened to a mother and her child long ago.”

Here’s the full rundown for next month’s new horror arrivals:

  • July 1st: “Unsolved Mysteries”
  • July 1st: Paranormal Activity
  • July 1st: Poltergeist
  • July 1st: Sleepy Hollow
  • July 1st: Splice
  • July 1st: The Devil’s Advocate
  • July 1st: The Witches
  • July 1st: Winchester
  • July 2nd: “Warrior Nun” – Netflix Original Series
  • July 3rd: “Ju-On: Origins”
  • July 10th: The Old Guard – Netflix Original Film
  • July 22nd: “Signs” – Netflix Original Series

Horror titles *leaving* Netflix in July include 47 Meters Down (July 9th), Under the Skin (July 11th), Life After Beth (July 18th), Tusk (July 18th), Chernobyl Diaries (July 31st), Godzilla ’98 (July 31st), Resident Evil: Extinction (July 31st), and horror-comedy Scary Movie 2 (July 31st).

The teenagers soon understand what evil they’ve released as they are overcome with an assortment of horrific experiences. With fiendish followers invading suburbia, it’s now up to the kids to discover the secret that can lock The Gate forever . . . if it’s not too late.
