Indonesian Horror Movie ‘Impetigore’ Debuts on Shudder This Week [Images]
Indonesian filmmaker Joko Anwar‘s (Satan’s Slaves) horror movie Impetigore is coming to Shudder this week, and we’re previewing the film with a new image gallery today.
The film premieres July 23 only on Shudder. Check out the gallery below.
“After surviving a murder attempt in the city, Maya, a down-on-her-luck young woman, learns that she may inherit a house in her ancestral village. With her friend Dini, Maya returns to the village of her birth, unaware that the community there has been trying to locate and kill her to remove the curse that has plagued the village for years. As she begins to discover the complicated reality about her past, Maya finds herself in a fight for her life.”
Tara Basro, Ario Bayu, Marissa Anita, Christine Hakim and Asmara Abigail star.
“Impetigore is my love letter to horror movies I grew up with, slashers, ghost stories, wrapped in a tragic family drama not unlike my family,” Joko Anwar recently said in a statement.
Meagan Navarro wrote in her Sundance review earlier this year, “Drawing inspiration from the likes of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Impetigore eschews jump-scare laden haunted house fare in favor of languid-paced taboo-breaking horror.”

‘Hollywood Dreams & Nightmares: The Robert Englund Story’ Slashes into VHS from Lunchmeat!
The SCREAMBOX Original documentary Hollywood Dreams & Nightmares: The Robert Englund Story is now streaming on SCREAMBOX, and it’s next coming to VHS!
A limited edition of only 50 copies worldwide, the VHS copies of the Englund documentary will go up for grabs on Saturday, April 27 at 12pm EST on Lunchmeat’s official website.
Josh Schafer of Lunchmeat explains, “With so many of Englund’s works being seen and familiarized on videotape, it only felt right to offer fans and collectors the opportunity to experience this fantastic doc on VHS. We all know the Freddy movies just feel different on videocassette, and we wanted to bring that feel to this film for those who want it.”

Selling for $30, the VHS is presented in native widescreen format & duplicated in NTSC, housed in full-color slipcase and pressed on black videocassettes with silver foil face and side labels.
The VHS release is presented in partnership with Cineverse, Bloody Disgusting, and Screambox, in association with Dead Mouse Productions and Cult Screenings U.K.
