Lionsgate is bringing the found footage classic The Blair Witch Project back to life with brand new Blu-ray and VHS releases, and both are up for pre-order from Lionsgate Limited.
The release date for the VHS and Blu-ray releases is October 13, 2026.
What makes these two releases extra special is that they both include the filmmaker-approved 2024 theatrical cut of The Blair Witch Project restored from original Hi8 tapes and 16mm film, which is notably being made available in the United States for the very first time!
It’s that 2024 theatrical cut that’s featured on the VHS release and while it’s also included with the Blu-ray, it’s not the only cut you’re getting with this brand new Blu-ray release…
This definitive collection includes three versions of the film on Blu-ray: the filmmaker-approved 2024 theatrical and festival cuts restored from original Hi8 tapes and 16mm film, available in the U.S. for the first time; plus the original 35mm theatrical exhibition version.
The collectible Blu-ray set also includes a new poster by renowned poster illustrator-artist Ken Taylor, and a 104-page booklet featuring original production journal, raw footage log, prop list with handwritten notes, and more. Lionsgate Limited Extras include new interviews with filmmakers and actors Joshua Leonard and Michael C. Williams, featurettes about the Blair Witch in other media, a tribute to cinematographer Neal Fredericks, exploration of two Blair Witch mockumentaries, and more, along with a host of legacy bonus content.
