Outside of the Alien franchise, I’m obsessed with the Child’s Play films. I love them all, including Seed of Chucky, which gave birth to the insanity that followed in Curse of Chucky. Don Mancini is back in the director’s chair for Cult of Chucky, the seventh Child’s Play film and what feels like the third in a new trilogy. While all canon, Seed, Curse, and Cult are part of their own story arc, while also recognizing the four films before them. This time, Chucky (Brad Dourif) heads into a psych ward to finish what he started with Nica (Fiona Dourif), who was left questioning her sanity at the end of Cult.
Universal Home Entertainment surprised fans this morning with the official trailer for Cult of Chucky, while also revealing an October 3, 2017, release date. The footage doesn’t hold anything back, revealing all of the characters, some of their deaths (which we’ve omitted from this article) and the cool new look of ol’ Chuckster.
Here’s a quick breakdown of the aforementioned trailer in beautiful hi-res images. What excites you the most? Personally, I’m hoping we get to see the Tiffany doll make a return and would more than welcome Glen/Glenda back into the fold.
