After having its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, André Øvredal’s thriller The Autopsy of Jane Doe (read our rave review) was acquired by IFC Midnight for release at a later date. Now, just a few days after its Fantastic Fest screening, a trailer has dropped teasing what to expect from this year’s sleeper indie horror hit. Yes, everyone is raving, including Joe.
Starring Brian Cox (The Ring, Red), Emile Hirsch (The Darkest Hour, Killer Joe), and Ophelia Lovibond (Guardians of the Galaxy), “The Autopsy of Jane Doe follows two coroners – a father and son – who receive a mysterious homicide victim with no apparent cause of death. As they attempt to identify the beautiful young “Jane Doe,” they discover increasingly bizarre clues that hold the key to her terrifying secrets.”
Øvredal is known to many for his fantastic faux-documentary Trollhunter.
