Uncork’d Nabs Sitges Zombie Flick, ‘Peelers’
Uncork’d Entertainment has acquired US rights to the upcoming zombie horror Peelers, writes ScreenDaily.
A deal was struck with Peelers director Sevé Schelenz at the Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival ahead of a screening at the weekend.
Schelenz’s follow-up to cult Skew stars Wren Walker as a small-town strip club owner who must defend her bar from infected raiders on closing night.
Caz Odin Darko and Madison J. Loos co-star in the film, which Uncork’d plans to release in 2017.
The distributor’s slate includes Krampus on ancillary platforms, comedy Spaghettiman, horror-thriller All Girls Weekend, The Evil Gene and A Haunting In Cawdor.
The roster includes The Hollow and Doomed: The Untold Story Of Roger Corman’s Fantastic Four, which launches across digital platforms this week.
Get ready for double the fun, protagonists, and body count when Ready or Not 2: Here I Come explodes on streaming next week.
Just in time for the fireworks, the sequel makes its streaming debut on Hulu and Disney+ on July 2.

I wrote in my review for Bloody Disgusting, “More is more in Ready or Not 2. Bigger stakes, larger playing field, a higher (and more gruesome) body count, and even double the protagonists. It’s all designed to deliver maximum crowd-pleasing fun.”
The horror-comedy sequel is written by Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy.
