The Awakening, a supernatural thriller that just wrapped shooting in Sullivan County, N.Y., has the weirdest of plotlines.
Zane Holtz (Robert Rodriguez’s “From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series”) is starring as a soldier who returns from active duty in Syria after his wife is killed in a car crash, says THR. He is reunited with his 5-year-old son, who survived the crash but is left with post-traumatic stress disorder. The child begins to display supernatural knowledge of a young woman’s disappearance that creates tension between the father and a small-town local gangster.
Tammy Blanchard also stars while Chance Kelly and Azhy Robertson also topline the thriller.
Adrian Grenier’s Reckless Productions, in association with NewAley Pictures, is behind the movie, which was written and directed by Jason Noto, making his feature directorial debut.
Reckless’ Robin Garvick, along with Erik Weigel and Michael Goodin, produced the movie. Grenier executive produced along with Becky Newhall.
