WORLD OF DEATH Ep. 84 – Inspiration / Microphone
Welcome back, viewers.
Today we have a double dose of artistry for you. I believe most people have some sort of artistic talent and it’s just a matter of finding out what it is. We’re here to show you what happens when people express their art forms WORLD OF DEATH style!
First, we have an animated short called INSPIRATION by Ustin Danchuck. This one is about an award-winning artist who was in an accident and lost his legs. He hits rock bottom and eventually finds his muse once again. Only this time, it rears its ugly head in a new form of art. One that is both vengeful and practical. I love the animation in this short. It’s creepy and foreboding and borders certain abstract qualities, creating a nightmarish reality that draws you in. It carries certain meta qualities, as the film itself is a work of art, displaying the talents of filmmakers and animators alike. It’s a good way to start today’s episode and serve as a muse for all of us going forward.
Next up, rapper and director Pete Navarro brings us MICROPHONE. In this vignette, an aspiring rapper steps up to a microphone in his studio to mess around and record a little something. Suddenly, a familiar voice starts answering him back in his headphones using the same art of hip hop. Suddenly, we have a rap battle for the ages and decisions must be made in dire situations. This is a clever and ambitious film with a real message in mind. This is like 8 Mile meets Bedazzled with a horror twist. Props to Pete Navarro and his finely crafted art of rapping. I love the idea of blending your own talents with something you love like horror. Way to use our genre as a vehicle for something other than showing off a pair of tits or bad CGI.
Have fun, kiddies. I hope you’re all inspired tonight.
Roll it!

Anna Faris & Regina Hall Promise ‘Scary Movie’ Will “Offend Everyone;” New Images Revealed
The Wayans are out to cancel the Cancel Culture with Scary Movie, and the cast assures it will do just that.
“They sort of have an across-the-board style,” Anna Faris tells EW. “It’s always been a part of the Wayans Brothers, their electricity. ‘Can we offend you? Will you still love us? Come on, you still love us, don’t you?'”
Regina Hall concurs, promising the “boundary-pushing” sixth installment in the horror parody franchise will “offend everyone.”
EW has shared a batch of behind-the-scenes images from Scary Movie, which hits theaters June 5 via Paramount.
Faris and Hall are joined by fellow franchise favorites Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Dave Sheridan, Lochlyn Munro, Cheri Oteri, Chris Elliott, and Jon Abrahams in the legacy sequel.
The ensemble includes Damon Wayans Jr., Gregg Wayans, Kim Wayans, Benny Zielke, Cameron Scott Roberts, Heidi Gardner, Olivia Rose Keegan, Ruby Snowber, Savannah Lee Nassif, Sydney Park, Kenan Thompson, and Felissa Rose.
Michael Tiddes (A Haunted House) directs from a script by Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, original Scary Movie director Keenen Ivory Wayans, Craig Wayans (Scary Movie 2), and Rick Alvarez (A Haunted House).
The film will slash through reboots, remakes, requels, prequels, sequels, spin-offs, elevated horror, origin stories, anything with the word legacy in it, and every “final chapter” that absolutely isn’t final.
Scary Movie launched in 2000, followed by Scary Movie 2 in 2001. The Wayans’ involvement ended there, but the series continued with 2003’s Scary Movie 3, 2006’s Scary Movie 4, and 2013’s Scary Movie 5.
