WORLD OF DEATH Ep. 99 – The Mechanic / Stowaway

We got 99 episodes and a witch ain’t in this one! Get it?!

In John Wesley Norton’s THE MECHANIC, an overprivileged couple has some car trouble and are speaking at the mechanic in a garage where their clueless and insulting behavior leads to some more trouble. The score Norton chose goes great with the film, even though it may overpower the dialogue for the last 30 seconds.  Southern comfort can be harsh and hilarious so make sure to be nice to your fellow humans while we’re on this blue rock, kids.

James Millar’s STOWAWAY is part urban legend, mixed with a Dexter premise and a Martha Stewart Living aftertaste. What starts out as a regular day in the life of a young woman turns hazardous as you witness an uninvited guest sneak into the backseat of her car. Millar turns the audience into silent voyeurs with a twist that may surprise many. Don’t judge me if Millar’s film made me crave a snack afterward. This is one of those short films that feels more like a teaser to a feature I am ready to watch and look forward to enjoying the sequels to follow.

Until we read again! Care, share and scare!
