WORLD OF DEATH Ep. 200 – TESTEment
Hola, amigos. Happy 200th installment of World of Death! I know it’s been a long time since I rapped at ya, but luckily my rotation came up just in time for the big anniversary. Two hundred episodes, can you believe that? That’s more than Firefly, Freaks and Geeks, Cupid, and Low Winter Sun combined. Kinda amazing when you think about it. Everyone give Tony, Jim, Ben, Alex and all the other WOD organizers a big round of applause. Yay!
This week’s installment comes to us from Vancouver, Canada by way of Mexican filmmaker Gigi Saul Guerrero. Variety called Miss Guerrero, “One of Latin America’s best-established female voices in horror” and her short film TESTEment is a shining example of NAFTA at work.
The film is called TESTEment and not Testament because it centers around a trio of witches that totally castrate some poor guy and inject his ball stuff into their mom for some vaguely religious reasons. The whole thing is less that 7 minutes long so there’s not a lot of backstory there. It was mildly erotic though. Maybe it was justified? Don’t all dudes deserve to have their balls mashed up with a mortar and pestle and injected into the elderly for one reason or another? I leave that up to minds greater than my own. The film is expertly shot and produced though. Really high quality stuff.
Keep an eye on Gigi Saul Guerrero in the future. She’s one of the filmmakers involved in the upcoming 28 horror anthology, which features 5 stories all centered around the “female cycle”. They got my money already. And also stay tuned right here of whatever comes next to the World of Death. We should take this moment to not only celebrate all that has come before, but all that lies ahead as well.
Rock over London, Rock on Chicago.

Anna Faris & Regina Hall Promise ‘Scary Movie’ Will “Offend Everyone;” New Images Revealed
The Wayans are out to cancel the Cancel Culture with Scary Movie, and the cast assures it will do just that.
“They sort of have an across-the-board style,” Anna Faris tells EW. “It’s always been a part of the Wayans Brothers, their electricity. ‘Can we offend you? Will you still love us? Come on, you still love us, don’t you?'”
Regina Hall concurs, promising the “boundary-pushing” sixth installment in the horror parody franchise will “offend everyone.”
EW has shared a batch of behind-the-scenes images from Scary Movie, which hits theaters June 5 via Paramount.
Faris and Hall are joined by fellow franchise favorites Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Dave Sheridan, Lochlyn Munro, Cheri Oteri, Chris Elliott, and Jon Abrahams in the legacy sequel.
The ensemble includes Damon Wayans Jr., Gregg Wayans, Kim Wayans, Benny Zielke, Cameron Scott Roberts, Heidi Gardner, Olivia Rose Keegan, Ruby Snowber, Savannah Lee Nassif, Sydney Park, Kenan Thompson, and Felissa Rose.
Michael Tiddes (A Haunted House) directs from a script by Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, original Scary Movie director Keenen Ivory Wayans, Craig Wayans (Scary Movie 2), and Rick Alvarez (A Haunted House).
The film will slash through reboots, remakes, requels, prequels, sequels, spin-offs, elevated horror, origin stories, anything with the word legacy in it, and every “final chapter” that absolutely isn’t final.
Scary Movie launched in 2000, followed by Scary Movie 2 in 2001. The Wayans’ involvement ended there, but the series continued with 2003’s Scary Movie 3, 2006’s Scary Movie 4, and 2013’s Scary Movie 5.
