Hyperbole?
In this new featurette, Milla Jovovich talks about returning to the role of Alice in Sony Screen Gems’ Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, which will end the new trilogy on January 27th.
What we learn is pretty interesting. First, director Paul W.S. Anderson – Jovovich’s husband – reveals that this film would not have happened if Milla didn’t want to return. She is the franchise. But what really set my ears on fire is when Jovovich explains that the new Resident Evil is “the best in the franchise.” She’s out promoting the film, so of course she’s going to pump it, but this is a bold, bold proclamation; although, are any of the Resident Evil predecessors truly, really, all that awesome?
Ali Larter also returns as Claire Redfield, Iain Glen will return as Dr. Isaacs, with Shawn Roberts playing Albert Wesker once again. New additions also include Ruby Rose as Abigail, Eoin Macken (The Night Shift) as Doc, Cuban American actor William Levy as Christian, Fraser James (“Law & Order: UK”) as Michael, and Japanese model and TV personality Rola as Cobalt.

The final chapter in the Resident Evil series, which I totally expect them to spinoff, opens in theaters January 27th.
