[Exclusive] Javier Botet Teases His Roles in ‘IT: Chapter Two’ and ‘Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark’

Javier Botet had the title role in Slender Man, Mama and even Alien: Covenant, and has played major creatures in The Conjuring 2, The Mummy, Insidious: The Last Key and more. However, he’s not too big of a creature star to cameo in major horror movies like It: Chapter One. Botet played the leper in one of It’s many scary manifestations. He’s signed on for It: Chapter Two and confirmed to Bloody-Disgusting that he has more to do in the sequel.

“I’m doing more things, but as you know, I can’t say any more about that,” Botet said in a phone interview promoting the home video release of Slender Man.

“The first time I did a very little piece with the leper. In this new one, I’m doing more things. I’m sure it’s going to be even more fun than the first if possible.”

So perhaps Botet appears as multiple creatures? But, will the leper return to terrorize the Loser’s Club as adults?

“I can’t say,” Botet teased.

The creatures of It’s cinematic incarnations leapt off the page from Stephen King’s landmark novel. When bringing these creatures to life, Botet said, everyone involved in the film gets a say.

“The director, the actor, everybody wants to give a piece of creation,” Botet said. “We understand what the director wants to create and then we do our little part, but yes, a lot of it logically comes from the book.”

Botet will also play a creature in the film adaptation of the Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark books.

“I play a role of one of the ghosts, but I can’t say much more,” Botet told us.

Since the film is an anthology, Botet is only in one of the stories.

“I want to see the movie because there’s a lot of stories,” Botet said. “I only worked on one of those so I want to see all the other stories.”

We’ll have more with Botet closer to the October 30 home video release of Slender Man.
