Strange ‘Swiss Army Man’ Trailer: Daniel Radcliffe Playing a Farting Corpse is Only the Beginning

Published

on

Daniel Radcliffe’s corpse farting is the least bizarre thing about the trailer for Swiss Army Man, acquired by A24 out of the Sundance Film Festival for release on June 17th.

A24 released the trailer that also features Paul Dano as a man who comes across a corpse (Radcliffe) that comes to life.

Fred Topel reviewed the film out of Sundance, where he stated:

“This is what I love movies for. When I hear an outrageous, bizarre idea, I want to see how that director pulls it off.”

Swiss Army Man is the directorial debut of music video duo Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, who clear had a unique vision that explodes onto the screen.

The trailer may open with Harry Potter farting in the face of Dano, but that’s the least strange thing about it. If anything, Swiss Army Man reminds me of Tom Hanks’ obsession with Wilson in Castaway, only if his imagination was realized on screen. Yes, you can watch Paul Dano ride Radcliffe like jet-ski and go full Weekend at Bernie’s with his body.

The Thing and 10 Cloverfield Lane‘s Mary Elizabeth Winstead also stars.

The film was produced by Jonathan Wang, Lawrence Inglee, Miranda Bailey, Amanda Marshall, Eyal Rimmon and Lauren Mann. Executive producers are Gideon Tadmor, William Olsson and Jim Kaufman.
