There’s nothing worse than when a studio shares a scene out of context – and it’s boring AF.
Check out Keanu Reeves in Nicolas Winding Refn’s glamor horror The Neon Demon, which finally received its theatrical release date as Amazon Studios will walk the runway Nationwide on June 24th. Elle Fanning stars as ‘Jesse,’ an aspiring model who moves to Los Angeles in hopes of breaking through. Her youth and vitality are devoured by a group of beauty-obsessed women who will take any means necessary to get what she has.
The clip has Fanning asking Reeves for help from an unwanted visitor.
Directed by Nicolas Winding Refn (Bronson, Valhalla Rising, Drive, Only God Forgives) with a screenplay co-written by NWR and Mary Laws, the film’s principal cast includes Elle Fanning (Maleficent), Jena Malone (The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1), Karl Glusman (Stonewall), Bella Heathcote (Dark Shadows), Abbey Lee (Mad Max: Fury Road), Desmond Harrington (Dexter, Gossip Girl) Christina Hendricks (Drive), and Keanu Reeves (John Wick, The Matrix series).
Alessandro Nivola plays Nicolas, a fashion impresario who taps Elle Fanning as his muse.
Trace reviewed the film, exclaiming:
The Neon Demon will prove to be just as polarizing as Refn’s last film, though it is arguably more accessible than Only God Forgives and more successful in getting its point across. At the very least it will spark lots of conversations, which is undoubtedly what Refn wants. Filled with fine performances, a fantastic score and beautiful cinematography, The Neon Demon is an enthralling virtual tour through an exaggerated version of L.A.’s fashion world.
