From the creator of Final Destination comes Dead Awake, a horror film that is based sleep paralysis, a real affliction that affects millions of people globally. It comes from Jeffrey Reddick, creator of the Final Destination, who brings us a story, “…of a young woman who must save herself and her friends from an ancient evil that stalks its victims through the terrifying real-life phenomenon of Sleep Paralysis.”
A week ago, we premiered the trailer for the film and now we’ve got our hands on the official poster, which is pretty much going to give me nightmares for the rest of my life. I just don’t do spiders.
Dead Awake was directed by Phillip Guzman and stars Jocelin Donahue (Insidious: Chapter 2, House of the Devil), Jesse Bradford (Swimfan, Flags of Our Fathers, Bring It On), and Lori Petty (“Orange is The New Black”, Tank Girl, Point Break). Completing the main cast are Brea Grant (Halloween 2, “Heroes”, “Dexter”), Jesse Borrego (American Crime, “Dexter”, Blood In Blood Out), and James Eckhouse (The Avengers, “Beverly Hills 90210”).
The film will have its world premiere at Shriekfest 2016 in Los Angeles on October 8 at 8:00 pm, with the East Coast Premiere set for the FearNYC film festival on Wednesday October 26th at 9:00. Galen Walker, James LaMarr and Derek Lee Nixon produced the film along with Philip Marlatt, Kurt Wehner and Phillip Guzman. Executive Producers A.J. Gutierrez, Ashley Wellberg, Jeffrey Reddick, and Tony DiStefano complete the producing team.
