It was less than a month ago when Ron Perlman took to Twitter to state that he wasn’t letting the dream of Hellboy 3 go quiet into that good night. However, it seems that the constant questioning and hopeful anticipation has made its mark on the actor, who now seems far less enthusiastic about the possibility of a new entry.
Talking with Screenrant, Perlman said that when it comes to Hellboy 3, “…We don’t talk about that anymore. Because he’s busy, and I’m busy. Maybe one day he’s going to call and say, ‘Hey, let’s do it.’ But for right now? We’re happy discovering new worlds to conquer.”
The two Hellboy movies came out in 2004 and 2008 with neither excelling at the box office. However, each received solid reviews and fans did turn out in greater numbers for the sequel, so it’s not inconceivable that a third film could perform admirably if the trend continues. As studios hopefully ponder this, I’ll just sit here and wait, ever patiently, for some good news.
