‘Halloween’ Gets an 8-Bit Treatment and it’s Fantastic! [Halloween Treat]

It’s rather difficult to go through an October without hearing, in some way, shape, or form, about John Carpenter’s Halloween. After all, the 1978 slasher is a masterpiece and is considered one of the greatest horror films ever made. So let’s go ahead and get another story about it up!

There was an attempt to bring Michael into the video game world on the Atari (hearing that infamous theme start and stop over and over nearly drove me insane) and we’ll also be seeing him in the upcoming Dead by Daylight DLC. Not content to wait however, the folk at CineFix decided that they’d had enough and were going to take a stab (pun intended) at their own Halloween video game adaptation! Below is what they came up with and it’s just adorable!

One of my favorite things about the video is that when Michael is about to kill someone, they switch into what is essentially a clone of Mike Tyson’s Punch Out. Also, instead of Mario acting as the referee, it’s Dr. Loomis, which just tickles me pink! They also made the daring decision to show adult Michael being played without his mask.

Now, obviously this isn’t a real game, which is a damn shame as I’d totally buy a copy if it were ever released.
