Clive Barker’s Hellraiser is an enduring indie horror classic that stands as one of the most imaginative and bizarre visions of horror ever released. Introducing the world to the Cenobites, Barker’s film was a hit upon release, generating over $14 million in domestic box office against a $1 million budget. It has since spawned a franchise that continues to this day with the upcoming Hellraiser: Judgment.
While Pinhead is the most famous and recognized of the Cenobites, there were others in the original film that haunted viewers. My personal favorite was Chatterer, a Cenobite who could not speak as his mouth was held open by fishhooks, his head flayed and his eyes sunk so far into his flesh as to have seemingly disappeared.
Apparently I am not alone in my love of this creature as AnnabelleLecter has carved a pumpkin to look like Chatterer and it turned out fabulous! It even includes the fishhooks that I mentioned earlier, which gives an added depth and dimension to this carving. You can see it below and cheers to Shudder UK for the find!
