Earlier this year Dimension Films had delayed the release Amityville: The Awakening to January 6, 2017, which is already upon us. While we’re unsure if they’ll make this date, the film will be opening internationally this December, as proof by the following poster. But what’s so strange about the art is that the title has a giant number 2 next to it. Are they pegging this as an official sequel to the first film? Or is it a sequel to something else? It can’t be a sequel to the 2005 Platinum Dunes remake, could it? Whatever the case, it’s interesting to see how films are sold differently overseas.
Maniac director Franck Khalfoun has had his film retitled, retooled and recut multiple times since its initial delay in September of 2014.
