Jeff Goldblum is Returning as Dr. Ian Malcolm in the ‘Jurassic World’ Sequel!
Steven Spielberg’s 1993 Jurassic Park is one of the greatest films of all time for a number of reasons. One of which is Dr. Ian Malcolm, the coolest dude to ever survive a dinosaur attack. Jeff Goldblum portrayed the character, a know-it-all mathematician who came to Jurassic Park as an insurance consultant. When he wasn’t wooing Ellie (Laura Dern) with his knowledge bombs, he was dropping some of the film’s most memorable lines, including, “Life finds a way.” Malcolm survived both trips to Jurassic Park and it looks like he’s being brought back for one last hurrah.
THR breaks the huge news this Tuesday evening that Goldblum will be starring in Jurassic World 2, the follow-up to the park’s reopening that was canon with the original trilogy. While the site doesn’t specify if he’s reprising his role, it would be strange if he weren’t considering how these are direct sequels that take place in the same universe as the initial trilogy. Man, can you imagine if they work Sam Neill into the film as well?!
J. A. Bayona (A Monster Calls) is directing the next installment in the studio’s hit franchise. Jurassic World earned $1.67 billion worldwide in 2015 and is the fourth-highest-grossing film in history.
Stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are returning for the sequel, which also stars Justice Smith, James Cromwell and Toby Jones. Colin Trevorrow, who directed Jurassic World, wrote the script for the sequel with Derek Connolly.
Producers Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley once again join executive producers Steven Spielberg and Trevorrow in the next chapter of the franchise. Belén Atienza is also producing. Vice president of production Sara Scott is overseeing production on behalf of the studio.
Jeff Goldblum is a national treasure and we couldn’t be more excited!

‘Mountain Man’ – Joe Manganiello Will Battle Zombies in Upcoming Horror Movie
Keith C. Blackmore’s book series Mountain Man is headed to the screen, with Deadline reporting today that Joe Manganiello (“True Blood”) is on board to star in the film adaptation.
The actor will also produce the upcoming zombie movie.
“Mountain Man tells the story of Gus, a lonely post-apocalyptic survivor facing isolation and the ever-present specter of a zombie attack, who struggles with alcohol abuse and suicidal thoughts until he discovers another survivor, a captivating woman who poses another threat altogether.”
John Lee (False Positive) will direct Mountain Man from a script by Matt Deller.
“John is a brilliant creative mind. We’ve been looking for the right thing to do together since we filmed Pee Wee’s Big Holiday and it’s finally here,” 3:59’s Joe and Nick Manganiello told Deadline. “Very excited to get to work on such weird, wild project with him.”
Film Bridge International is launching sales on the project in Cannes.
Blackmore’s Mountain Man series features 7 books, the first one published in 2011.
