Last year’s Alien Day felt rushed, really not leaving much of a mark behind releasing a slew of products that were impossible to get. This year, there’s content bombs dropping from a vast amount of unexpected sources.
Take this video for example, “MythBusters” star Adam Savage was lucky enough to not only visit the production of Alien: Covenant, but he also was allowed to film everything. In this first episode of their behind-the-scenes series, Adam tours the massive set of the Dreadnought as it’s being built, painted, and weathered to life by the production team in preparation for filming. You’ll also see the Engineer hallway and the Space Jockey Chamber of the Juggernaut ship, and catch Ridley Scott prepping to shoot a scene.
This is a rare look behind-the-scenes of a production, especially ahead of a film’s release. Alien: Covenant launches on May 19th.
