This past Wednesday night marked the premiere of HBO’s special First Look: Alien: Covenant, a 12-minute mini documentary about the making of Ridley Scott’s follow-up to Prometheus. If you missed it or just want to watch again, we’ve got you covered.
Actually, the folks over on AvP Galaxy have you covered, as they’ve just uploaded the video in full (below). The featurette covers everything from the construction of the incredible sets to the pairing of practical effects and CGI that brought the various creatures to life, and it’s a recommended watch before the film hits theaters next weekend.
Katherine Waterston stars while Michael Fassbender returns as Prometheus‘ android David (and Walter), with a crew that includes Demian Bichir and Danny McBride (“Eastbound and Down”), as well as Alex England (Gods of Egypt), Billy Crudup, Amy Seimetz (A Horrible Way to Die, “The Killing”), Jussie Smollett (“Empire”), Carmen Ejogo, and Callie Hernandez (Machete Kills). James Franco also has a role.
Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the “synthetic” David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.
Alien: Covenant takes off for Paradise on May 19, 2017.
