Ron Perlman Talks Defunct ‘Hellboy 3’; Watch Full Motor City Comic Con Panel!

Just weeks after learning that the Hellboy franchise is set to be rebooted, Ron Perlman, who starred in Guillermo del Toro’s two live-action adaptations, appeared at the Motor City Comic Con in front of hundreds of fans.

During the Q+A session, shared below, Perlman talks about the long-gestured and now defunct Hellboy 3.

“The third [Hellboy] one was meant to be epic and conclusive and a resolve for all these, almost, Greek oracle promises of the destiny of Hellboy. It would’ve made for a really good movie, I think.”

It was announced the other week that Neil Marshall (The Descent, Doomsday) is rebooting the Hellboy franchise with upcoming film Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen, which will star David Harbour (“Stranger Things”) as the title character.  Perlman shows massive respect and offers huge love to Harbour:

“David Harbour is a good dude, man. I have nothing but love for that dude. I wish him nothing but the best when it comes to the retooling of HB.”

Based on what we’ve heard so far, it’s going to be darker and more gruesome than Guillermo del Toro’s films, which has certainly piqued our interest. Watch for it in 2018.
