This ‘Bad Batch’ Clip Has it All! Watch a Girl Get Her Arm Sawed Off to Ace of Base’s “All That She Wants”
Ana Lily Amirpour follows up her alt-cult sensation A Girl Walks Home with her highly anticipated dystopian cannibal desert trip Bad Batch, which had its North American Premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival.
Opening June 23rd, 2017, The Bad Batch is a savage dystopian cannibal fairy tale set in a Texas wasteland where society’s rejects are just trying to make ends meat.
We now have the film’s first clip, via distributor Neon, that’s vicious. The scene unfolds with Ace of Base’s “All That She Wants” playing in the background. The music gets cranked up as a saw is grabbed and used to remove someone’s arm. Tell me this doesn’t look absolutely awesome?!
The cast is insane, including Suki Waterhouse, “Game of Thrones’” Jason Momoa, Giovanni Ribisi, Yolonda Ross, Jayda Fink, Cory Roberts, Louie Lopez, Keeanu Reeves, and even Jim Carrey.
Arlen (Waterhouse) as she is unceremoniously dumped in a Texas wasteland fenced off from civilized society. While trying to orient her unforgiving environment, she is captured by a savage band of cannibals and quickly realizes she’ll have to fight her way through her new reality. As Arlen adjusts to life in ‘the bad batch’ she discovers that being good or bad mostly depends on who you’re standing next to.
Bad Batch is at the top of our must-see list for 2017.
Filming is underway on The Invisible Man director Leigh Whannell’s Wolf Man for Universal and Blumhouse, which will be howling its way into theaters on January 17, 2025.
Deadline reports that Matilda Firth (Disenchanted) is the latest actor to sign on, joining Christopher Abbott (Poor Things), Julia Garner (The Royal Hotel), and Sam Jaeger.
The project will mark Whannell’s second monster movie and fourth directing collaboration with Blumhouse Productions (The Invisible Man, Upgrade, Insidious: Chapter 3).
Wolf Man stars Christopher Abbott as a man whose family is being terrorized by a lethal predator.
Writers include Whannell & Corbett Tuck as well as Lauren Schuker Blum & Rebecca Angelo.
Jason Blum is producing the film. Ryan Gosling, Ken Kao, Bea Sequeira, Mel Turner and Whannell are executive producers. Wolf Man is a Blumhouse and Motel Movies production.
In the wake of the failed Dark Universe, Leigh Whannell’s The Invisible Man has been the only real success story for the Universal Monsters brand, which has been struggling with recent box office flops including the comedic Renfield and period horror movie The Last Voyage of the Demeter. Giving him the keys to the castle once more seems like a wise idea, to say the least.
