One of the biggest stories of the year is that Neil Marshall (The Descent) will be behind the camera on a reboot of the Hellboy franchise.
Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen, will star David Harbour (“Stranger Things”) as the title character in a darker and more gruesome interpretation than the Guillermo del Toro’s films.
Millennium Films is behind the project, which always lent credence that it would be distributed by Lionsgate, much like their other films. TheWrap confirms this, although it’s yet to be solidified.
The film has already been scripted by Andrew Cosby, Christopher Golden, and Mike Mignola, and the plan is to bring it to the screen with an “R” rating. It is being executive produced by Christa Campbell, Lati Grobman, and Carl Hampe.
