While we wait to see what happens here in the States, it appears that the Franck Khalfoun-directed Amityville: The Awakening will be opening internationally on August 31, 2017.
Thanks to Bloody Disgusting reader Raphael, we have what appear to be the Brazilian trailer and poster art for the film, which boasts the aforementioned August date. Paris Films confirmed this on their official Facebook page. In addition, @notoriousitalia confirmed an August 23rd release in Italy.
In Amityville: The Awakening, “Belle, her little sister, and her comatose twin brother move into a new house with their single mother Joan in order to save money to help pay for her brother’s expensive healthcare. But when strange phenomena begin to occur in the house including the miraculous recovery of her brother, Belle begins to suspect her Mother isn’t telling her everything and soon realizes they just moved into the infamous Amityville house.”
