Take ‘The Oath’ to Not Kill Your family on Thanksgiving

Things we need more of: social thrillers; Thanksgiving-themed genre films.

Ike Barinholtz – who many of you may not know but is a hilarious up-and-coming actor – will not only star in, but also write, produce, and make his feature directorial debut on the independent satirical thriller The Oath, says Variety.

The movie is set in a near-future America in which citizens are required to take a loyalty oath and follows a man trying to make it through the Thanksgiving holiday without destroying his family.

While it’s unclear how violent or genre this is, it’s notable that the film is being produced and financed by QC Entertainment, which also backed Jordan Peele’s horror hit Get Out and Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.

Also, mark my worlds, this will be Barinholtz’s breakout role.
