“Mindhunter” Star Cameron Britton Joins ‘The Girl in the Spider’s Web’

Production is set to begin early next year on Evil Dead remake and Don’t Breathe director Fede Alvarez’s The Girl in the Spider’s Web, which will essentially be rebooting the tale of iconic character Lisbeth Salader with, once again, an all-new cast.

Variety reports this week that Cameron Britton, who played real-life serial killer Edmund Kemper in Netflix’s “Mindhunter,” has landed a key role. He’ll play a close associate of Lisbeth — a computer expert to whom she reaches out when she needs assistance.

Claire Foy stars as Lisbeth Salader, with Sylvia Hoeks as Salander’s evil twin. Claes Bang (The Square) recently landed a role as one of the film’s antagonists.

In the film, an adaptation of David Lagercrantz’s novel…

“Young computer hacker Lisbeth Salander and journalist Mikael Blomkvist find themselves caught in a web of spies, cybercriminals and corrupt government officials.”

Alvarez co-wrote with Steven Knight and Jay Basu.

David Fincher will executive produce the new film, headed our way October 19, 2018.
