Upcoming ‘Suspiria’ Screening in NY Gets Killer Poster Inspired By Original Trailer

The only thing more terrifying than the last 12 minutes… are the first 92.

On Friday, January 12, 2018, at the Cinema Arts Centre in Huntington, New York, the Retro Picture Show presents a double feature presentation of Dario Argento classics Suspiria and Inferno, both on 35mm; the print of Suspiria being exhibited is the newly-discovered uncut Italian 35mm print!

For the event, artist Marc Schoenbach of Sadist Art Designs created a brand new, retro-style poster for Suspiria, inspired by the film’s original teaser trailer. That attention-grabbing teaser, as you may recall, began with a woman brushing her hair; we initially see her head from behind, but she turns around to reveal, well, she’s a skeleton.

Schoenbach’s design recreates that image, and it’s being sold on posters, short sleeve, long sleeve, and women’s fit tees through Gutter Garbs. Additionally, the design was used for a variant poster, using the film’s alternate title: Mater Suspiriorum, translated in the opening sequence of Inferno as “Mother of Sighs” or “Mother of Sorrow.”

If you want to attend the double feature, grab tickets through Retro Picture Show!
