Grapple With Poster and First Look at Wrestling Horror Film ‘Parts Unknown’

When you combine wrestling and horror, you’ve got my money.

If you’re looking for wrestling-themed horror films, well, there aren’t many of them. There’s 2014’s Pro Wrestlers vs. Zombies, which stars a handful of well known wrestlers, and there’s also 2006’s Wrestlemaniac, centered on a killer Luchador.

What I’m trying to say is, we could certainly use more horror films with a professional wrestling theme, and the upcoming Parts Unknown is looking to fill some of that void.

Scare Tissue revealed the official poster this week, along with plot details. In Parts Unknown, the name derived from a term popularized by the pro wrestling business..

“After putting their bodies on the line for countless years, a family of professional wrestlers seek a brand new way to satisfy an impeccable bloodlust.”

Richard Chandler wrote and directed the film, which features a cameo from Jake “The Snake” Roberts. It’s currently in post, scheduled for Spring/Summer 2018 release.

Writer in the horror community since 2008. Editor in Chief of Bloody Disgusting. Owns Eli Roth's prop corpse from Piranha 3D. Has four awesome cats. Still plays with toys.

Landon recently teased on Twitter, “This is my love letter to DePalma.”

Jillian Jacobs and Chris Roach wrote the script.

Michael Bay, Jason Blum, Brad Fuller and Cameron Fuller — “who brought the script in to Platinum Dunes” — are producing the upcoming Drop. Sam Lerner is an executive producer.

THR notes, “The film is a Platinum Dunes and Blumhouse production for Universal.”
