Ah, good ole Uwe Boll. Up to his old tricks again.
Aside from making less-than-stellar films such as House of the Dead and Alone in the Dark, German filmmaker Uwe Boll is also known for being a world champion shit-stirrer. In fact, Boll had at one point in time challenged his most vocal critics to literal fist fights, and his passion for being a brash internet troll has hardly waned over the years.
Boll’s latest fight is with Paul Thomas Anderson, the director of the Academy Award nominated Phantom Thread. We have a strong feeling that Anderson probably pays little attention to the things Boll says, but Boll is convinced that Anderson has a vendetta against him in the wake of Boll trashing Phantom Thread on his podcast.
Furthermore, Boll believes that Anderson lashed out against Boll for his comments by… stealing the poster design for ’05 film BloodRayne and using it for Phantom Thread.
In a recent tweet, Boll made the likely-for-attention accusation, posting a side-by-side image that does indeed highlight the similarities between the two posters.
“That’s not a coincidence,” Boll insists.
I wouldn’t have believed it but Paul Thomas Anderson is giving us a verifiable “fuck you” after I criticized Phantom Thread on Uwe Boll: RAW… look at this poster. That’s not a coincidence. pic.twitter.com/htc2WkYy1j
