The only Friday the 13th films I’ve personally been able to see on the big screen are the more recent ones – Jason X, Freddy vs. Jason and the ’09 remake – but I’d have to imagine that it’d be pretty cool to have memories of seeing the earlier installments upon release. Particularly Friday the 13th: Part 3, which brought Jason into 3-dimensions.
We’ll never be able to go back in time to experience a film such as Friday 3D during its opening weekend, but a batch of incredible photos that just surfaced do at least allow us to virtually time travel back to 1982. The photos were brought to our attention by Friday the 13th: The Franchise, shared by Gene Crowell in the FB group Jason Voorhees Lives.

“Here are some rarely ever seen photos of a local F13 Part 3 in 3D Jason promotional appearance in the Washington DC area in 1982. My late friend, makeup artist, Tim Davis was hired to promote the film at local theaters. He was only given a few days notice and a few photos to work from and had to hire an unknown actor, do the makeup and take him from theatre to theatre.”
