Ready Player One is the Spielberg I’ve been waiting most of my adult life for the return of. Pure imagination. Pure entertainment. It’s a celebration of pop culture escapism and a reminder to live a little in the real world too, and it’s beautiful magic from start to finish. And sure, it doesn’t hurt that it also happens to be LOADED with horror movie love.
There are TONS of horror references in Ready Player One, including cameo appearances from Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees, Stephen King’s Christine, Chucky and even an Alien chest-burster, plus one epic tribute we wouldn’t dare spoil. And wouldn’t ya know it, a new international poster that’s just come to our attention actually features Freddy on it!
Yes, Freddy has two gloves in the movie rather than one, but keep in mind this isn’t the real character. Rather, it’s a fan-made creation that’s used in the OASIS as a virtual reality avatar. So why the hell not give Freddy two gloves and make him even deadlier?!
