If your interest wasn’t already piqued by the reports out of CinemaCon in Las Vegas, this image from Amazon’s Suspiria remake is going to raise eyebrows.
50 Shades of Grey‘s Dakota Johnson plays main character Susie Bannion in the remake, which was helmed by Oscar-nominated director Luca Guadagnino. These first images, courtesy of Abandomoviez, take us inside the dance academy with one displaying a vicious, yet sexually explicit chest wound.
In Suspiria, “A young American ballet dancer travels to a prestigious dance academy in Europe, only to discover it is something far more sinister and supernatural. She becomes increasingly terrified after a series of gruesome murders ensue and she slowly unravels the dark history of the academy.”
The cast also includes Chloe Grace-Moretz, Tilda Swinton, Mia Goth, Sylvie Testud, Angela Winkler, Małgosia Bela, Lutz Ebersdorf and Jessica Harper.
The clip shown at CinemaCon was described gruesome and hard to watch, while Johnson had previously stated that the intensity of the shoot had sent her into therapy.
How quickly this has propelled to the near top of our must-see list, behind A24’s Hereditary.
