“Dexter” Star Michael C. Hall Joins ‘In the Shadow of the Moon’

“Dexter’s” Michael C. Hall has joined the cast of Netflix’s genre-bending thriller In the Shadow of the Moon, says Collider.

He will join Logan and The Predator star Boyd Holbrook in the film about an unexplained murder investigation over several decades.

“Holbrook will star as a detective who becomes obsessed with a series of murders that seem beyond explanation.”

Stakeland and We Are What We Are‘s Jim Mickle is directing the movie from a script by Gregory Weidman and Geoff Tock.

The film is expected to begin shooting later this year.

“Gregory and Geoff’s script is such a great mind bender and beautifully weaves together all my favorite genres,” Mickle said when originally announced. “Boyd is going to eat this role alive and show why he’s one of the best young actors working today. We’re lucky to have an incredibly talented producing team and a home like Netflix that’s excited to take chances. Any studio that makes ‘Okja’ has a permanent place in my heart.”

Mickle will produce along with Brian Kavanaugh-Jones and Rian Cahill for Automatik, Ben Pugh for 42, and Linda Moran.

‘Trap’ – Official Trailer Previews a Wild New Horror Experience from M. Night Shyamalan

Just two months after his daughter Ishana Night Shyamalan debuts on the big screen with horror movie The Watchers, M. Night Shyamalan is back with his new thriller Trap.

M. Night Shyamalan’s new thriller for Warner Bros. – the sixteenth movie in his Oscar-nominated career thus far – is headed to movie theaters nationwide on August 9, 2024.

In the upcoming thriller starring Josh Hartnett, “A father and teen daughter attend a pop concert, where they realize they’re at the center of a dark and sinister event.”

Hartnett had recently described the mysterious film as “very bizarre” and “very dark.”

According to IMDb, the cast for Trap also includes Hayley Mills, Marnie McPhail, Vanessa Smythe, Saleka Shyamalan, Scott Ian MacDougall, Kristi Woods, and Cali Lorella.

Trap is the first film Shyamalan has made under his new deal with Warner Bros., which has been described as a “multi-year first-look directing and producing agreement.”
