‘Dexter: Resurrection’ Season 2 Reveals Killer First Trailer

Michael C. Hall stars in 'Dexter: Resurrection'

Michael C. Hall‘s Dexter Morgan has officially been resurrected, and what might come as a major surprise, Season 2 of Dexter: Resurrection will see him killing people. Of course, the charm of the long-running serial killer franchise is that Dexter kills people as an act of vindication as opposed to an underlying malice, though it’s still an impressive body count he’s tallied over the years and across multiple series.

The first trailer for Season 2 of Dexter: Resurrection has been released by Paramount+ ahead of the show’s October 30 premiere, which you can see below.

America’s most beloved vigilante’s story continues as Paramount+ unveils the trailer and key art for Season 2 of the SHOWTIME original series Dexter: Resurrection, starring SAG Award honoree and Golden Globe winner Michael C. Hall (Dexter, Six Feet Under). Dexter: Resurrection returns to Paramount+ on October 30 only on the Premium Plan.

From Emmy-nominated showrunner and executive producer Clyde Phillips, the second season of Dexter: Resurrection finds Dexter Morgan (Hall) caught between two killers — one with decades of notoriety and a lifetime of kills behind him, and the other a fresh young face terrorizing New York in ways no one has ever seen. Meanwhile, Dexter battles a new and unexpected enemy: a mid-life crisis. Harrison (Jack Alcott) continues his own pursuit of justice as father and son face their darkest chapter yet.

Alongside Hall, the series stars returning cast members Uma Thurman, Jack Alcott, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine, Kadia Saraf, Dominic Fumusa, Desmond Harrington, and James Remar.

Dan Stevens, Emmy winner Bokeem Woodbine, Nona Parker Johnson, and Emmy, Olivier, and Golden Globe winner Brian Cox join Season 2 in series regular roles. Krysten Ritter also returns in a guest starring role and Gabriel Luna joins as a guest star this season.

Part of what makes this series so exciting is how, due to popular demand, the character and the show just can’t seem to die. As with many long-running series that have to wrap up their stories eventually, the series finale of the original Dexter left some fans underwhelmed, so no matter how much these fans loved the show, ending on a lackluster note tainted their memories. When the franchise was revived, we were given Dexter: New Blood and Dexter: Original Sin, both of which only lasted a single season. Resurrection, though, has clearly found a more successful structure and could be just the start of another long-running narrative.
