If you’re not a fan of what Ridley Scott has been doing with the Alien franchise these past several years, and we know many of you absolutely hated both Prometheus and Alien: Covenant, 20th Century Fox is now giving you the chance to course correct the franchise with an in-universe film directed by, well, YOU!
Just announced today, the studio has partnered with Tongal to celebrate next year’s 40th anniversary of the original classic with a special contest that just began its “Pitch Qualifications” phase. You have until July 3rd to submit your written pitch to the team running the contest, and 18 pitches will be selected on July 6th to go forward in the contest.
The task?
“Create an original five to nine-minute short set within the universe of legendary sci-fi horror film, Alien.”
In early 2019, six videos will be selected as winners. Head over to Tongal for full details!
