Even those who loathed David Ayer’s Suicide Squad agreed that Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn was the standout highlight, so it’d be smart for DC/WB to heavily rely on the character going forward. Cathy Yan’s Birds of Prey will indeed prominently feature Quinn.
Announced earlier this year, the film will pair up Harley Quinn with other female characters from the DC Universe, and The Wrap just got the scoop on those other characters.
According to the site, the “girl gang” will include Harley Quinn, Black Canary, Huntress, Cassandra Cain and Renee Montoya.
“In addition, TheWrap has learned that the villain in “Birds of Prey” will be a Batman comics villain who has never before appeared on the big screen.”
Christina Hodson is working on the script. Robbie is also producing.
