We learned earlier this year that Oscar winning actress Halle Berry is set to star in a remake of 1985 thriller Jagged Edge, which was written by Joe Eszterhas and directed by Richard Marquand. We’ve got an update via Deadline today, with the site reporting that Melissa London Hilfers has been hired to write the script.
Berry will take on the role played by Glenn Close in the original.
In the original film, “San Francisco heiress Page Forrester is brutally murdered in her remote beach house. Her husband Jack is devastated by the crime but soon finds himself accused of her murder. He hires lawyer Teddy Barnes to defend him, despite the fact she hasn’t handled a criminal case for many years. There’s a certain chemistry between them and Teddy soon finds herself defending the man she loves.”
Matti Leshem and Doug Belgrad will produce.
